Save the Date: Turning the Screws on Crime at Twin Waters

Join Twin Waters Neighbourhood Watch, Sunshine Coast Police, Northshore Lions and Twin Waters Residents Association ‘Turn the Screws on Crime’.

Turning the Screws on Crime‘ is aimed at reducing number plate theft from vehicles in the Sunshine Coast District.  Stolen plates are often fitted to other vehicles, which are then used to commit offences in an attempt to avoid detection.
One way screws for number plates will be available to be fitted at the Apex Kids Camp, Mudjimba.

When:  Saturday, 22 April 2017

Time:  9.00am to 12.00pm

Location:  Apex Kids Camp, Noojor Road, Mudjimba

A gold coin donation is requested to support Twin Waters NHW group

It takes just a few seconds for offenders to unscrew the plates held on with conventional screws so police are encouraging the public to replace standard number plate screws with “one way” security screws making them more difficult to remove.

The one way screws can’t be removed with conventional tools, which deters would be thieves.

The community is asked to participate in this crime prevention program so please pass this message on to your neighbours and friends.

If your registration plates are stolen, report it to police as soon as possible and contact the Department of Transport and Main Roads to cancel them. More information is available here.
